1. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS
By booking lessons, purchasing courses, or using VocalMint services, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use our services. VocalMint is operated by Matthew Hickman, located at The Atrium, Leicester. These terms govern all interactions with our vocal coaching services, website, and digital products.
2. SERVICES PROVIDED
VocalMint offers: - Online singing lessons via video call (currently) - Structured courses (12 Week Foundation, 6 Week Pre-Audition Check, 10 Week Build Your Own) - Gift vouchers redeemable for lessons or courses - Recorded lesson materials for personal educational use In-person studio services in Leicester are planned to open mid-2027, but not guarenteed. Until then, all coaching is delivered online.
3. BOOKINGS AND SCHEDULES
3.1 Lesson Scheduling - Lessons are scheduled at mutually convenient times between client and coach - Business hours: Mon–Fri 12pm–6:30pm (extended to 10pm by arrangement) | Sat 12pm–3pm | Sun Closed - Clients must create an account to manage bookings and packages
3.2 Rescheduling and Cancellations - Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours before the scheduled lesson time - Late cancellations (under 24 hours) may result in loss of that lesson credit - Missed lessons without notice are not refunded or rescheduled - Reasonable emergencies will be considered on a case-by-case basis
4. PAYMENTS AND PRICING
4.1 Standard Rates - One-hour lessons: £40 - 12 Week Foundation Course: From £279 (save up to £81) - 6 Week Pre-Audition Check: From £149 (save up to £91) - 10 Week Build Your Own: From £299 (save up to £101) - Gift vouchers: £50, £100, £200, £250 denominations. All lesson prices are subject to change at any given moment.
4.2 Payment Methods - PayPal - BACS (reference format: VM followed by Invoice Number, e.g., VM100)
4.3 Payment Terms - Full payment is required before course commencement or lesson booking - Prices are subject to change without notice for future bookings - All prices are quoted in British Pounds Sterling (GBP) - VAT: VocalMint operates below VAT registration threshold unless notified otherwise
5. GIFT VOUCHER TERMS - Valid for 12 months from date of purchase - Non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash - Redeemable for any singing lesson package or course - Digital delivery within 48 hours of purchase - Transferable only before redemption - Expired vouchers cannot be reinstated
6. COURSE PACKAGE TERMS
6.1 Duration - Courses must be completed within their specified timeframe (e.g., 12 weeks for Foundation Course) - Extensions may be granted at VocalMint's discretion for valid reasons - Unused lessons expire after course completion window closes
6.2 Attendance - Weekly attendance is expected to maintain progression - Clients with less than 50% attendance may not achieve advertised outcomes - Makeup sessions are subject to coach availability
7. LESSON RECORDINGS AND INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
7.1 Recording Ownership - All lesson recordings belong to the student for personal educational use - Recordings are sent within 48 hours and stored securely - Students have lifetime access to their lesson recordings
7.2 Usage Restrictions - Recordings must not be distributed, shared publicly, or monetised without VocalMint's written consent - VocalMint retains ownership of teaching methods, frameworks, and original materials - Students may share their own vocal performances created during lessons
8. CONFIDENTIALITY
Both parties agree to keep confidential any sensitive information shared during coaching sessions. This includes personal challenges, creative work-in-progress, and private performance concerns
9. LIABILITY AND DISCLAIMERS
9.1 Limitation of Liability - VocalMint is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of our services - Total liability is limited to the amount paid for the specific course or lesson package - We are not responsible for technical failures (e.g., internet outages, platform issues) outside our control
9.2 Health and Safety - Students should consult a medical professional if experiencing vocal pain, strain, or persistent discomfort - VocalMint provides educational coaching, not medical treatment or speech therapy - Students participate at their own risk and should exercise reasonable caution during practice
9.3 Results Disclaimer - Outcomes vary by individual commitment, practice frequency, and natural aptitude - VocalMint cannot guarantee specific results (e.g., audition success, performance bookings) - Progress depends on regular practice and attendance between sessions
10. REFUNDS AND RETURNS
10.1 Eligibility - Refunds are not issued once a course has commenced except under exceptional circumstances - Gift vouchers are non-refundable by law unless faulty or misrepresented - Course cancellations by VocalMint entitle clients to full refund or transfer to equivalent service
10.2 Request Process - Refund requests must be submitted in writing within 7 days of purchase - Decisions are at VocalMint's discretion and will be responded to within 14 days
11. STUDENT CONDUCT
Students agree to: - Attend lessons prepared and on time - Maintain respectful communication with VocalMint staff - Provide accurate information during booking and intake - Use lesson recordings only for personal educational purposes - Not harass, threaten, or engage in abusive behaviour Violation may result in immediate suspension or termination of services without refund.
12. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
VocalMint may use third-party platforms (e.g., Zoom, PayPal, Squarespace). These are governed by their own terms. We are not responsible for third-party service failures, data breaches, or policy violations outside our control.
13. PRIVACY POLICY REFERENCE
Your personal data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy, available at https://vocalmint.com/privacy-policy. Continued use of services constitutes acceptance of both this Terms document and the Privacy Policy.
14. AMENDMENTS TO TERMS
We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Updates will be posted on our website with a revised "Last Updated" date. Material changes affecting existing customers will be communicated via email where possible.
15. GOVERNING LAW AND JURISDICTION These terms are governed by English law. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
16. SEVERABILITY If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
17. FORCE MAJEURE
VocalMint is not liable for failure to perform obligations due to circumstances beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, pandemics, strikes, internet infrastructure failures, or government restrictions.
18. ENTIRE AGREEMENT
These Terms and Conditions constitute the entire agreement between you and VocalMint regarding the use of our services, superseding any prior agreements or communications.
